What happens in therapy

Therapy is about developing emotional and psychological resilience. It provides an opportunity to discuss specific issues or explore and gain a more in-depth understanding of yourself.

During our initial appointment we can discuss your concerns and this will also be an opportunity to decide if we can work together. It is important that you find a therapist you feel comfortable working with. You also need to consider if you are able to commit to regular attendance and engagement in the therapeutic process.

Following the initial assessment, sessions will last for 50 minutes, and will usually be at the same time and same day each week. I offer both short term and longer term therapy, and we will discuss what is most suitable for you personally. I also offer sessions over the telephone or on Skype and Zoom for clients who are unable to see me in my practice.
